Throw Throw Avocado

Two squishy avocados sit in the middle of the table. Everyone draws cards and, all at once, passes them around trying to collect sets of three matching cards, much like Spoons. Whenever someone completes a set of avocado battle cards, the game freezes and the players it names fight: a duel where two players walk three paces and turn, a brawl, or a whole-table war. Get hit and you lose a point token. The sets you collect earn points, and the first to the target score wins. It plays on its own or combines with Throw Throw Burrito for a four-projectile version. Fifteen minutes, chairs pushed back, and a group that does not mind being hit in the face with foam. It suits teenagers, families and colleagues who can laugh at themselves, and is best with five. Not one for a small café table; play it where there is room to stand up.
