The Chameleon

A topic card with sixteen words lies in the middle: countries, say, or foods. Two dice pick out one of them as the secret word, and everyone learns it through a code card except the Chameleon, whose card just says Chameleon. Each player in turn says one word connected to it. Give too much away and the Chameleon works out the word; be too cagey and you look like the Chameleon. Then everyone points, and a caught Chameleon gets one last chance to name the secret word and win anyway. Rounds take three or four minutes, the rules can be taught in under two, and the code cards mean no moderator is needed. It is one of the very lightest hidden-role games we stock, a gentler first step than Spyfall for a group of six. The topic cards are in English, so keep that in mind for a mixed table.
