Tapple

A round wheel with twenty letter keys sits in the middle. Someone reads a category card, say things in a kitchen, and hits the timer. You have ten seconds to say an answer, press its first letter and pass the wheel on. The next player needs a new answer starting with a letter that has not been pushed down yet. Hesitate past the buzzer and you are out for the round; the last person standing keeps the category card, and most cards at the end wins. It is a word game with an object to slap, which makes it louder and more forgiving than anything with pen and paper. The rules take a minute, the buzzer referees, and five or six players keeps the pressure on. Good for teenagers, for family Fridays and as a break between two heavier games.
