Spot It!: Sports

You look for the one piece of sporting gear that two cards share and name it first. Footballs, rackets, whistles, medals and the like are spread eight to a card, and any two cards in the tin have exactly one image in common. Flip a card, scan, shout, take it. When the deck is done the tallest stack wins, and the rulebook has four more ways to play, including a "hot potato" version where you try to hand your cards away. Same speed and same one-minute teach as the classic set, with symbols that a sports-mad kid will recognise instantly. We like it for mixed-age family tables and for the last ten minutes before a group has to leave, since a round never runs long.
