Harmonies

You are laying out a landscape from coloured wooden tokens on a personal hex board, and filling it with animals. Each turn you take one of the sets of three tokens on offer and place them: brown stacks into mountains, green makes trees, blue is water. You may also take an animal card, each showing a terrain pattern. Build that exact pattern and you can settle one of the card's cubes there for points. The game ends when the bag runs empty or a board is nearly full. Every terrain scores its own way: mountains want height and neighbours, rivers want length, fields want company. You are always balancing animal patterns against those rules. It is heavier than it looks, though a couple can learn it in ten minutes. It plays best at two, has a proper solo mode, and is the natural next step after Azul or Cascadia.
