Spot It!: Classic

You race everyone at the table to find the single picture shared by two cards. The tin holds 55 round cards with eight symbols each, and any pair of them has exactly one symbol in common. Turn over the top card, everyone scans at once, and whoever names the match first grabs the card. The largest stack wins when the deck runs out, and the rulebook adds four more ways to play with the same deck, including one where you try to get rid of your cards instead. Known as Dobble in much of the world, it is the reaction game we reach for most often at Never Board when a group is waiting for the last person to arrive. Children beat adults regularly, a round takes five minutes, and there is nothing to teach beyond "find the match".
