Rebirth

You lead a clan rebuilding Scotland after the collapse, placing tiles on a hex map to restore its castles, abbeys and farmland. The game ends when the tiles run out, and the clan with the most points wins. A turn is one tile from your own supply, placed anywhere it fits. Some tiles score the moment they touch the map, depending on what they sit next to, while others plant your clan around a castle so that whoever holds the most influence there at the end takes its reward. Contract cards add side goals. The rules fit on a page, but the board tightens quickly and the late placements matter far more than the early ones. One of the lighter Strategy titles we stock, from the designer of Lost Cities and Ingenious. We suggest it for a couple or three friends who want a thinking game under an hour, and it is a fair next step after Carcassonne.
