Hues and Cues

The board is a grid of 480 colour squares running from pale yellows to deep purples. The cue giver draws a card naming one exact square and gives a one-word clue, such as "coffee". Everyone places a peg on their guess. Then a second clue of up to two words, "with milk", and a second peg. A frame goes around the target, pegs inside it score, the closer the better, and the cue giver scores for every peg that landed near. It is communication about a thing nobody has words for, and the arguments about what colour a mango really is are the point. It takes a minute to teach and works with a table of ten as easily as four. We recommend it as the calm one for a mixed group, and it sits next to Codenames and Dixit for people who liked those.
