Dice Town

In a Wild West town, five poker dice decide which building you use each turn: nines for the gold mine, tens for the bank, jacks for the store, queens for the saloon, kings for the sheriff, and the best hand claims a plot of land. When the nuggets or the bank run dry, the richest in nuggets, dollars, land and cards wins. Everyone rolls together, keeps one die and rolls the rest again until all five are set. Keeping extra dice costs a dollar each, a bribe that often decides things. Then each building pays whoever shows the most of its face, and the sheriff settles ties, so the sheriff's friendship is worth a few dollars. It is light and noisy, with plenty of stealing, closer to a party game than it looks. Take it for a table of four or five who want dice and banter rather than planning.
