You lead one of the world's major powers, and together you are trying to bring global emissions to net zero. Every round the world emits carbon and crisis cards hit your communities. You win together when the world absorbs more carbon than it produces, and lose if the temperature climbs too high or too many communities are left in crisis. Each turn you play cards into your tableau of policies and technologies: solar, public transit, carbon taxes, reforestation. Cards slide under others so only their icons show, and those icons power the cards above, so your engine grows as your emissions fall. From the designer of Pandemic, it fills the same spot at the club. It is heavier than Pandemic and closer to two hours, not a first cooperative game. It suits team-building sessions, where arguing over who gets the tech first is half the point.
