A Message from the Stars – Extinction Protocol

This is an expansion, and it needs the base game of A Message from the Stars to play. In the base game one player is the alien with a secret word, and the scientists around the table try to decode it from the numeric replies the alien gives to their guesses, following a hidden code. Extinction Protocol adds two new game modes. In them the letters are hidden as before, but the rules of the code itself can be scrambled too, so you are working out the method as well as the message. Buy it if your group has cracked the base game a dozen times and the alien is finding it too easy to be understood. It keeps the same team-based shape and roughly the same forty-five minutes. If you have not played the base game, start there; this box on its own does nothing.
