Fleet

You are building a fishing fleet in a northern bay. Round by round you win licences at auction, launch boats, put captains aboard, and haul in fish that become points. The game ends when the licences or the fish run out, and the richest mix of boats, licences and catch wins. Each round opens with an auction for a licence, and gold here is cards paid from your hand, so every boat you keep is a bid you cannot make. Then you launch boats, which bring in fish. The same card can be money, a boat or a captain, and choosing is the constant tension. It is heavier than it looks, so treat it as a step past Catan rather than a filler. Best with four, still tight at two, and a good pick for friends who enjoy auctions and want a card game with real economic weight.
