Sushi Go Party!

You are filling a plate from a conveyor belt of sushi cards. Everyone picks one card from their hand at the same time, sets it face up, and passes the rest to the left. When the hands run out, points are counted and a new round begins. After three rounds the desserts you saved are scored and the highest total wins. The menu board decides which dishes are in the deck tonight, so one game is all nigiri and wasabi and the next is dumplings and tempura. This is the version of Sushi Go to own rather than the small tin. It teaches in five minutes, rounds are quick, and it is one of our standard openers before a table settles into something heavier. It is also a safe pick for a mixed family table, since a child of eight can keep up with the adults.
